The activity aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and improving the visitor management of the Biosphere Reserve by improving the tourism infrastructure and rationalising the routes of trails in the area.
The new infrastructure contributes to the attractiveness of Babia Góra Biosphere Reserve as a destination for hiking, biking and horse riding both for tourists and for locals. It also ensures the minimisation of negative tourism impacts on the natural environment and prevents wild camping/resting and trampling. Thus the protection of biodiversity and the stimulation of sustainable tourism activities have been combined.
Over 9 km of trails were reconstructed. 3.5 km of the Rajsztag road and bicycle lane, which functions also as a horse-riding and educational path, were repaired. Over 2 km of new roads, which serve as bike/tourist trails were built. An interpretative trail with necessary infrastructure (stop-and-rest spots, educational boards, bicycle stands) and three tourist shelters were established.
