The research of land use and landscape changes over three centuries resulted in an analysis and a series of maps for 350 square km in the Aggtelek Biosphere Reserve and 750 square km in the Slovak Karst National Park.
The study serves as a data base for biomonitoring programs, conservation research and management, restoration and rehabilitation activities as well as for promoting environmentally friendly farming methods and developing tourist information brochures, educational material and other publications.
